BELTON — There were shining lights and an almost-full house. The only thing missing Tuesday night was a season-opening performance as bright as the playing surface at Red Murff Field.

Instead, Mary Hardin-Baylor had the plug pulled by Texas Wesleyan, which steamrolled to a 13-0 victory that spoiled the Crusaders’ inaugural night game at their home park.

UMHB managed only six hits, committed four errors and its pitchers handed out 10 walks to offset 16 strikeouts.
