A Temple High School teacher was placed on administrative leave Wednesday following a report of a potential improper relationship with students, according to a news release from Christian Hernandez, director of communications for Temple ISD.
The district was notified Wednesday morning by Temple Police that there may have been such a relationship. The unnamed teacher was immediately placed on paid leave.
"Like most school districts, we don't have a policy in place for unpaid leave," Hernandez said.
According to the Temple Police Department, a report of an improper student/teacher relationship was made at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday evening. The police department statement said that information on the case is limited and the case is still active.
Temple ISD will keep the teacher in question on leave until the investigation into the allegations is complete. The district is cooperating with police.
