Wreck halts traffic on I-35 in Temple

Temple Fire & Rescue, & Temple Police work a crash in the 500 block of S. Interstate 35 on Friday morning after a tractor-trailer straddled the concrete median. The driver was transported by Scott & White EMS with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Traffic in both direction was reduced to one lane and moving slowly. Drivers should expect prolonged delays and find alternate routes.

Temple Fire and Rescue and Temple Police responded to an overturned semi truck that hit the median on Interstate 35 near Adams Avenue.  The call came in around 10:35 a.m.  Both lanes of traffic are blocked.  

A tractor-trailer is hung up on center median barrier, blocking traffic in both directions.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported at 10:50 a.m. that the stack-up southbound was about 3 miles, past Industrial Boulevard. The backup northbound was almost 2 miles, past S. Loop 363.

There was no estimate on when the traffic would be clearing.

Alternate I-35 routes northbound posted by TxDOT:

1. Exit 298 to Loop 363

2. Turn left and drive 6.0 miles to I-35

3. Turn left and drive to on-ramp.
