ROGERS — Two people are dead after a two-vehicle, head-on crash that occurred just before 10 p.m. Sunday near Rogers, Bell County Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman said Monday.
One person died at the scene, while the other vehicle’s driver was taken by Temple EMS to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Texas.
A 39-year-old Rogers woman was pronounced dead just before 11 p.m. Sunday, and a 57-year-old Copperas Cove man died just before 1 a.m. Monday, Coleman said.
One person survived the crash and is at the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
The names of victims were not available Monday.
Rogers Fire Chief Ernest Stroud and the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department, Rogers Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety and Temple EMS responded to the accident at about 10 p.m., Stroud said.
The crash was on U.S. Highway 190 east of Rogers and was just before the Bell County line near Rogers Cemetery Road, Coleman said. The call went out at 9:52 p.m.
No drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision, according to Coleman.
No information was available Monday from the DPS.
