BELTON — Registration for Project Apple Tree — a community wide back-to-school project of Helping Hands Ministry — is currently underway through June 27.
The project provides school supplies, a backpack, hygiene items, clothing and shoes to students in the Belton and Academy school districts.
Registration for the project must be completed in person at Helping Hands Ministry, 2210 Holland Road in Belton.
Families that qualify will be able to purchase a pre-packaged set of school supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene items and a backpack for $5. Families are allowed to purchase up to four sets at $20.
“The vision of Helping Hands Ministry is to eliminate all physical and spiritual poverty in East Bell County,” the organization said in a news release.

Items will be distributed Aug. 12 at First Baptist Church of Belton.
