The walls came tumbling down

Work crews demolish a building Thursday that served as a parish hall, gym and classrooms at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple. The Rev. Kurtis Wiedenfeld said the structure’s foundation had problems and flooded in the basement. The church looked into renovating the building but decided it would be more cost-effective to tear it down and start over. “It will hopefully be the parish hall,” Wiedenfeld said. “It will be the hall where we gather and have various activities. Hopefully, we will create something beautiful out of what is now kind of a ruin.”
