BELTON — Services for Mary Claire Penden, 70, of Belton will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Belton. 

Ms. Penden died Monday, June 24, at her residence. 

She was born May 25, 1949. She was a 1967 graduate of Temple High School, and attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She worked as a medical transcriptionist, starting in Dallas and then at Scott & White in Temple. She moved to Utah, Arizona, West Texas, Colorado, Oregon and Houston, but returned to Central Texas to enjoy retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Valerie Bartek Welch of West Lafayette, Ind., and Angela Bartek Day of Los Angeles; a brother, Mack Connally Neal of Austin; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Belton, 506 N. Main St., Belton, TX 76513. 

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
