An unofficial report Thursday said the suspect had been identified, but Lt. Edward Best, spokesman for the Temple Police Department, would not confirm or deny that allegation.
Best said Friday the suspect has been arrested.
The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
Police reports described the suspect as a white, Hispanic or Asian man between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds and in his early 40s. The man reportedly had tattoos on both forearms and shoulder length hair.
The string of robberies began Monday at Country Boy’s in Salado. In Temple, the Texan Texaco was robbed Tuesday, and a Shell station on Thursday.
