For a few Materials Transportation Company employees it was time to go back to school Monday as Temple College showed up to teach a machinist math class provided by a Skills Development Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.The two-hour class will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on site at MTC.The $578,565 dollar grant which funds the class was awarded last fall to the Temple College Manufacturing Consortium and is intended to provide workforce training specific to industry.

Nowhere is it felt more than in football, the king of all extra-curricular activities in Texas.Today's announcement, released at 9 a.m., will immediately affect football and basketball. UIL assistant athletic director Rex Spain said Monday that academic and spring sports alignments for 2000-02 will be released later this spring.In any case, today's realignment announcement is sure to cause a stir. by Will Wright
