The next popular diet could become pecan based.Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Scott and White Clinic and Texas A&M University researchers are conducting a study of human plasma lipid and lipoprotein responses to a diet high in oleic and derived from pecans.The recent augmentation of alternative diets incorporating more fat are becoming popular, according to information provided by Scott and White.The hospital is questioning the effect of these fat sources on cholesterol and future heart disease. Pecans, walnuts and similar nuts have fats and other components, which could reduce the cholesterol causing heart disease. | |
