Temple Census returns beat state
Forty-four percent of Temple residents have returned their U.S. Census forms, according to statistics presented at a Temple Census 2000 Complete Count Committee meeting Tuesday.The return rate for Texas is 33 percent, so far one of the slowest response rates in the country. Nationally, 42 percent of U.S. households have returned their forms.Thirty-eight percent of Bell County residents have returned the survey that was mailed March 14 and 15, according to the U.S. Census Internet site at www.census.gov.
