Camlu Care Center given Nov. 8 deadline
Published: November 3, 2000
The Texas Department of Human Services has given the Camlu Care Center nursing home in Temple an Immediate Jeopardy designation because of a failure to adequately assess residents' needs and a failure to act to prevent a reoccurrence of violations. The facility has until Nov. 8 to correct the deficiencies or risk losing Medicaid and Medicare contracts, according to DHS spokeswoman Rosemary Patterson."We are expecting in the next few days we will receive word from the facility that they have corrected the violations. At that time we will go back out as a team and see if in fact the improvements are in place. If they are, we will lift the IJ(Immediate Jeopardy)," Ms. Patterson said.Ms. Patterson said Immediate Jeopardy is designated when conditions exist that threaten residents' health and safety.""It tells them they must fix the problem very quickly," she said. by Clay Coppedge
