Heavy rains over much of Central Texas sparked flash flooding on Friday, closing vital roads in the region and filling creeks and rivers to ominous levels. The National Weather Service reported that that waters were rising in the Llano, San Saba and Devils rivers and their tributaries. Forecasters said the waters were expected to continue rising through the night, resulting in major flooding along the Llano and San Saba. Strong thunderstorms dumped three to four inches of rain in much of the Hill Country, and more than six inches in some places. More rain was expected overnight. by The Associated Press (AP) ** -->
