Council mulls contract with economic board
The Temple City Council discussed revisions to its contract with the Temple Economic Development Corporation and the proposals in the Quality of Life Task Force final report Thursday.The changes in the contract increase the membership of the TEDC board of directors from 11 to 15 and make the mayor, city manager, a council member and the chairman of Temple Reinvestment Zone No. 1 voting members on the board.Previously, the mayor and city manager served as non-voting members.The rest of the makeup of the board will be four members each from the Chamber of Commerce and Temple Industrial Foundation, recommended by their respective group and approved by the city council, and three members from the community at large.
