Pardee to speak at Wildcat banquet

Former NFL great and Milam County resident Jack Pardee will be the featured speaker at the Temple Wildcats' annual football banquet on Thursday at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center.The banquet will begin at 7 p.m. and will be catered by Al's Bar-B-Q Barn. Tickets are $10 and are available at the athletic office at Temple High.Several team awards will be presented, as well as the George Johnson Scholarships, which are given by the Temple Quarterback Club, the sponsor of the banquet.Pardee, an All-America linebacker at Texas A&M, was selected twice to the Pro Bowl, with the Los Angeles Rams in 1963 and the Washington Redskins in 1971.His final game was Super Bowl VII in 1973, which the Redskins lost 14-7 to Miami. Pardee turned in an outstanding defensive performance, making 11 tackles.
