Red-hot UMHB takes on Concordia
Published: January 30, 2001
Surging Mary Hardin-Baylor will meet struggling Concordia tonight in an American Southwest Conference college basketball doubleheader in Austin. With a win, UMHB's men (10-7 overall, 7-4 in the ASC's West Division) at 7:30 p.m. would end their five-game road trip at 4-1 and retain second place in the ASC West. A victory by the UMHB women (11-6, 8-3 ASC West) at 5:30 p.m. would be their third straight after an 0-2 start on the lengthy road swing. If the Lady Crusaders beat Concordia (6-11, 4-7) and division leader Hardin-Simmons (13-4, 9-2) defeats McMurry (9-8, 8-3) tonight, UMHB would take over sole possession of second place. If the Lady Crusaders and McMurry both win, there would be a three-way tie atop the division standings. by Greg Wille
