Published: March 2, 2001
Another day of rain, wind and cold enveloped Central Texas and the eastern half of the state on Thursday, forcing area schools to postpone or cancel their scheduled sporting events this weekend. The biggest local event is today's Wildcat Relays, which features nine boys track teams in a single-day meet at Temple's Wildcat Stadium.Coach Larry Dearen said a final decision whether to hold the meet will be made at 10 a.m. today. Saturday's Tem-Cat Relays, also at Wildcat Stadium, is on as planned. Temple's tennis teams won't be competing at the Austin ISD tournament today and Saturday because that event has been canceled. The Temple's boys golf team will go ahead with its scheduled appearance at the Austin ISD Invitational today and Saturday. Both of Temple's soccer teams will be in action tonight against Georgetown. The Tem-Cats will be in an 8 p.m. game at Georgetown, and the Wildcats will host the second-ranked Eagles at 8 p.m. at Woodson Field.
