Foundation awards $389,116 in grants

The E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation has awarded $389,116 in grants to eight area organizations.Mark Willard, Division Manager of E.R. Carpenter L.P., made the announcement of the spring grants in a news release on Saturday.The largest grant, $200,000 was given to Cultural Activities Center on condition that the CAC raise the balance of funds necessary to construct an all-purpose community room addition to its building. Estimated cost of the addition is $1.2 million.Bell County Society for Crippled Children received $12,000 to replace the air-handling unit for the Center
