Youth from all over Texas competed in the SPJST Youth Achievement Contest Saturday at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center. Temple drew more than 400 young people to the daylong event from each of the surrounding seven SPJST districts in Texas. The contest event represented the grand finale of SPJST district competitions that took place this summer. Youth who participated at the Youth Achievement Day contest took first-place honors at competitions within their district.
