Tem-Cats blow past Lady Roos, 50-36
Published: January 10, 2001
As has been the case in the majority of its games this season, the Temple girls basketball team got off to another quick start on Tuesday night. This time though, the Tem-Cats closed the deal.Playing one of its most complete games of the season, a much more confident and aggressive Temple squad kept the heat on cold-shooting Killeen through four quarters. The Tem-Cats forced 30 Lady Roos turnovers and sank 16 of 24 free throws en route to a dominating 50-36 victory at Wildcat Gym.Azzie Knox paced Temple (6-11, 1-1 in District 13-5A) with 13 points while Courtney Crews and Shaquinta Hamilton added 11 and 10, respectively.Having watched her youthful team struggle to losses after seizing the early momentum in several other games this season, Temple coach Susan Brown said the Tem-Cats are finally developing team chemistry and confidence in one another. And it's making a difference. by Tom Day
