Central Texas has its share of pledges

After months of speculation, soul-searching and everything else that goes into picking a college, decision day arrived for the area's high school football players.Twenty-seven area players signed with colleges across the nation on Wednesday, the first day recruits could sign with colleges. Five players signed with Division I-A schools, while the rest opted for I-AA, D-II or junior colleges.Temple's lone signee was linebacker Ty Neatherlin, who signed with I-AA Southwest Texas State."Southwest Texas approached me at midseason," said Neatherlin, one of three linebackers signed by the Bobcats. "And (defensive coordinator) Mike Hudson was straight up with me. He said, 'Don't be fooled, Southwest Texas is not a small school. There's lots of opportunities here.' By Greg Rajan And Nick Taylor
