Temple might actually be a step closer to having a state-of-the-art, stadium seating movie theater, with the City Council set to vote Thursday on a proposal that will have them backing the financing on a construction deal for a new 10-screen facility.Larry Ruggiano, president of the Temple Economic Development Corporation, who is orchestrating the deal, said it is under negotiation but looks promising.Under the arrangement, TEDC and the city will contribute to construction costs, but the main selling point of the deal is that the city will assume the note on the construction if Cinemark, which operates Cinema 5 and would operate the new theater, is unable to continue the operation. by Anna Foster
