Alcohol issue may get second chance

Last November, Temple voters had their say on whether restaurants can serve mixed drinks without operating as a private club, but a second measure, on whether beer and wine can be sold for off-premises consumption in the city, failed to make the ballot. The issue is apparently not dead, however, as the Bell County Commissioners Court is scheduled to discuss issues relating to the second item at a workshop following its regular 9 a.m. meeting Monday at the courthouse.
