Texas State Senior Games return to Temple in 2003
Published: July 21, 2002
The Texas State Senior Games will be returning to Temple in 2003 and 2004. The State Senior Games Association board of directors decided Saturday in San Antonio to award the event to Temple for two years. The games for competitors 50 and older were held in Lubbock last year and will be there again this summer (Aug. 26-Sept. 1). Temple had hosted the games for five years after the competition had been held in Arlington for eight years. Ken Cicora, director of the Temple Parks and Leisure Services department, said Saturday's vote was 14-1. There was a one-vote margin when Lubbock was awarded the games in January 2001.
