Sewer, water line work OKd; Temple approves two contracts worth more than $800,000

The Temple City Council approved more than $800,000 in two separate contracts for water and sewer line maintenance at its regular Thursday meeting.A contract to Bell Contractors, Inc., was approved for $682,000 in water lines replacements at North 7th Street through Nugent Avenue to Royal; North 11th Street through Nugent Avenue to Royal; 205 Loop through Adams Avenue to East Ridge Drive; Pecan Valley Drive through Midway Drive to Briar Cliff Road; Wagon Trail and South 5th Street though Avenue M to Avenue P.The contract also included sewer lines are scheduled to be replaced in the alley between South 11th and South 9th Streets and Avenues I and H; the 1100 to 1200 block of the alley off South Main Street; East Avenue B and the alley between French and Houston Avenues. Both water and sewer lines will be replaced at North 3rd Street through the alley between Central and Adams Avenues.Separate improvements on Kegley Road and Nugent Avenue water lines worth roughly $120,000 were also approved at the meeting.
