With light snow still falling and the temperature at 32 degrees by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the prospects grew of snow sticking to the ground in Temple on the first day of the new year. Powdery flurries were falling in places at 5 p.m. Tuesday, enough to thinly cover automobiles and make for some icy snowballs.
