Going into last Wednesday, tonight's men's basketball duel between Temple College and Grayson County College at TC Gym loomed quite large.TC's Leopards at that point were 16-2 and in first place in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference at 5-0, while Grayson's Vikings were 16-1, 3-1 in league play, and ranked 15th in the country in the NJCAA Division I poll. But last Wednesday, the teams began to take different paths. While TC was thrashing Southwestern Christian College 128-80 at home, Grayson was losing 91-82 at Hill College. And on Saturday, Leopards outscored McLennan Community College 135-119 in Waco, while second-place Weatherford College handed the host Vikings a 101-96 setback in Denison. Now, TC (18-2, 7-0 NTJCAC) is trying to complete the first half of conference play with a perfect record, while Grayson (16-3, 3-3) is fighting with Hill and MCC for the league's final position in March's NJCAA Region V Tournament in Lubbock. The Leopards will play host to the Vikings at 7:30 p.m., to be preceded by the women's game between TC (9-12, 2-5) and Grayson (9-12, 3-4) at 5:30 p.m. by Greg Wille
