Annual Tem-Cat girls soccer tourney has tough, talented field

Eight years ago, Temple girls soccer coach Kevin Korompai had a vision to bring a quality high school tournament to Temple. The Tem-Cat Invitational will take place today and Saturday at both Woodson Field and the Korompai Soccer Complex at Wilson Park. Temple at 5 p.m. at Woodson will open up with Nacogdoches, rated 10th in Class 4A Region II according to the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) preseason poll. Games will begin at 9 a.m. today, when Belton plays Round Rock Stony Point, Cedar Park meets Wichita Falls and Leander squares off with Abilene.
