The course of collecting, like true love and old tractors, does not always run smoothly. Any member of the Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association can attest to the truth of that statement. Association members have been known to sell a spouse’s car to buy a tractor that hasn’t run for 30 years but just needs a little work. They might drive a thousand miles for a particular steering wheel.

Sometimes winning is just a matter of survival. The Temple Tem-Cats found that out Tuesday night. Temple overcame a mid-match slump and outlasted Copperas Cove 25-18, 18-25, 21-25, 25-10, 15-5 for a District 13-5A volleyball victory at Wildcat Gym.

The Temple College volleyball team on Tuesday night had little difficulty in remaining undefeated in conference play, beating Cisco Junior College 30-17, 30-15, 30-18 at TC Gym. The Lady Leopards of first-year coach Pam Lee improved to 14-5 overall and 4-0 in Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference matches. Tyraeia Benjamin led Temple with her 12 kills and effective serving, Michelle Boulet made 15 digs, and Lauren Carter contributed 29 assists.
