Thousands of people lined the sidewalks along Central Avenue wanting to get a front row view of Downtown Temple’s annual Christmas Parade Monday evening. With the flip of a switch, Mayor Bill Jones III lit City Hall’s Christmas tree and festive lights, officially kicking off the Christmas season in Temple.

Voting for the 13-5A All-District Football Team followed a pattern similar to the district race, with Temple, Belton and College Station A&M Consolidated rising to the top. Temple (9-3), which finished third in the district standings, had six first-team selections and co-champion Belton (9-2) placed eight on the first team as voted on by the league

The final statistics did not indicate a good game for the Temple College men
