However, it’s safe to assume that the Astros’ representatives who do come here will be happy to talk about those big guns, who are expected to help Houston contend for the World Series in the upcoming season.
Scheduled to take part in the Winter Caravan’s area stops from Tuesday through Thursday are shortstop Adam Everett, set-up relief pitcher Brad Lidge, outfielder Jason Lane, pitcher Brandon Backe, and Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton.
The Winter Caravan will begin on Tuesday with a 2:45 p.m. assembly at Yoe High School in Cameron — the hometown of Astros owner and Temple businessman Drayton McLane.
On Wednesday the Astros contingent will make appearances at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Shoemaker High School in Killeen, the Temple Lions Club luncheon, Temple College, and Temple High School.
The group then will head to Colonial Mall-Temple for a free autograph session from 4-5:30 p.m.
The Astros will conclude their Central Texas swing on Thursday with appearances at Belton High School, Scott and White Memorial Hospital (1:30-3 p.m.), and the Temple Chamber of Commerce’s party at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Convention Center.
