The total number of votes cast at all of the early voting sites was 1,225 as of Friday.
“I am very pleased with the turnout as far as voters,” said Danny Dossman, co-chair of the Belton Schools Moving Forward PAC. “It just shows that the people of the school district are definitely interested in the district and what happens. It is because of that interest that we have the quality of schools that we have and I still simply encourage everyone to vote on this last day of early voting or on Saturday.”
“Of course I want them to vote for it because of the improvements that are necessary in the district,” he added.
There are about 18,000 registered voters who reside in the district who are eligible to vote in the bond election. In 1997, the last time the district held a bond election, 550 people voted.
