The Temple boys visit Waco at 7:30 p.m. today and the Belton girls travel to Copperas Cove at 7 p.m. for a pair of games with postseason implications.
The Wildcats (22-9, 3-4), fresh off victories over Copperas Cove and Belton, will try to keep their playoff hopes alive with a third consecutive win when they face the Lions (19-9, 4-3).
A loss would drop Temple, which fell to Waco 95-82 in the first meeting at Wildcat Gym, two games back of third place with only two games remaining.
In other district boys action today, district co-leader Belton (21-8, 5-2) hosts Cove (7-1, 0-7) at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Gym and Bryan (18-9, 5-2) takes on College Station A&M Consolidated (20-9, 4-3).
On the girls side, Belton (18-10, 7-2) can clinch at least a share of the league title with a win at Cove (23-9, 6-3). Belton won the first meeting 59-50 at Tiger Gym.
If the Lady Tigers prevail, and if Bryan (24-8, 7-2) beats Consolidated (7-22, 1-8) today, Belton would share the crown with Bryan. The Lady Vikings, however, would receive the top seed and first-round bye based on their two victories over the Lady Tigers.
But a Copperas Cove victory combined with a Bryan win would leave Belton and Cove tied for second, and a tie-breaker system would decide the final two seeds.
In the other girls district game, Temple (13-17, 2-7) hosts Waco (15-13, 4-5) at 7 p.m. at Wildcat Gym in the season finale for both teams.
