City awakes to blanket of snow

Staff and Wire Reports

Many Temple residents awoke Saturday morning to see their lawns and trees covered with about two inches of snow.

It was fluffy snow, good for snowball fights and even the building of a snowman. All too quickly, it melted away to nothing.

With the temperature expected to drop to 30 degrees early Sunday, warned Mike Cameron, meteorologist with KCEN-TV, frozen slush and pools of water were liable to create a driving hazard. The skies are supposed to be clear to partly cloudy today with a warm high of 52 degrees. The temperature should drop to 29 degrees again Monday before climbing to 55 degrees, with a slight chance of showers.
