Long-awaited rain finally arrives, but in torrents

A light, steady drizzle brought Temple an inch of rain on Friday and caused flooding in low-lying parts of Killeen.

Fortunately, the temperature stayed well above freezing, with a low of 61 degrees. More rain may fall before it ends today, said Chief Meteorologist Andy Andersen of KCEN-TV, but the weather should stay warm, for January. The normal temperature for Jan. 16 is 34 degrees. The record was 17 degrees in 1982.
