Three other area players appeared on the TSWA list, all from 17-4A co-champion Heights. Defensive lineman Keith Jenkins was voted to the third team, while offensive lineman Michael Schumard and defensive back Cameron Fox each received an honorable mention.
The five 4A selections bring the number of area players honored on the TSWA teams this year to 22, with the Class 5A team to be announced today.
Stickler, a 6-3, 205-pound senior who has verbally committed to play for North Texas, made 53 catches for 1,072 yards and 11 touchdowns for Lampasas as the Badgers went 5-5. He also rushed for 341 yards and five scores.
Heights’ Wood was credited with an average of four pancake blocks per game for the 8-3 Knights, whose offense gained 365 yards per outing. He received an honorable mention on the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state team.
