Central Texas residents will have to hope for the best this flu season as area hospitals confirmed Wednesday that due to the national shortage of flu vaccine, they too will have to administer doses on a priority basis.

Dr. Jim Rohack, professor of medicine at Texas A&M University System College of Medicine and senior staff physician at Scott and White Memorial Hospital, said the shortage is not new to the nation, or Central Texas.
