The number of large building permits issued for the area is a good indicator that it must be spring. Harker Heights, Belton and Nolanville issued a total of four permits totaling $12,492,700.

The largest permit issued last week was in Belton for construction of an additional apartment complex for Turtle Creek Apartments, 210 Industrial Park Road.

Ray Severn, owner of RAM Construction and Turtle Creek Apartments, said the addition is a 150,000 square foot complex on 10.5 acres of land.

Severn said construction will begin on the project in approximately 10 days and will likely take a year and a half to complete.
