State officials have awarded a $27.5 million contract for a project which will expand the 31st Street bridge over Loop 363 to 10 lanes and upgrade 1.9 miles of frontage roads along the loop.

The Texas Department of Transportation Texas Transportation Commission awarded the contract to James Construction Group, LLC of Baton Rouge on Thursday.

According to a TxDOT spokesman the action on the Loop 363 project between South 57th Street and South 5th Street in Temple was taken during the commission
