Christopher Benedik, Sara Foster, Jennifer Graham, and Keith Wilkinson have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards worth $33 million that will be offered next Spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semi-finalists must fulfill several requirements and advance to the finalist level of the competition.
These students took the 2004 PSAT and met requirements to enter the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among the 16,000 highest-scoring participants of some 1.3 million
The four semifinalists accepted the honor graciously, but most of them attributed their success to luck.
