Temple area residents are invited to honor the soldiers of the 136th Signal Battalion of the Texas Army National Guard, at a deployment ceremony Saturday, Nov. 5.

The battalion, based out of the Temple armory, is being deployed to Iraq, and are expected to ship out within two weeks, said Julie Win, executive director of Families of the Texas Military Foundation.

Open to the public, the ceremony will be held 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday at Temple High School
