Renovation of a South 31st Street apartment complex apparently will go ahead despite the rejection of a rezoning request that was thought to be essential. The city of Temple issued a $3,712,000 permit for the renovation of the Meadow Village Apartment Complex this week.

A new hotel in Killeen and a renovation of the old Wal-Mart in Belton were among area permits issued this week. The city of Killeen issued a $1,890,000 permit Thurs-day for the construction of a Value Place Hotel located on the Central Texas Expressway, and the company says that it is looking to build another in Temple sometime soon.
