A new hotel in Killeen and a renovation of the old Wal-Mart in Belton were among area permits issued this week.

The city of Killeen issued a $1,890,000 permit Thurs-day for the construction of a Value Place Hotel located on the Central Texas Expressway, and the company says that it is looking to build another in Temple sometime soon.

The city of Belton issued a $1,589,810 permit Tuesday for the renovation of the former Wal-Mart in Belton to convert it into office space for the Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG).
