The city of Temple will be in the golf course business after the City Council approved a series of actions at its meeting Thursday night.

The Council effectively put maintenance of Sammons Park Golf Course into its own hands, at least for a few months.

In a previous meeting the Council voted to pay Bank of America $275,000 to gain early release from a maintenance contract for the course. Bank of America became the holder of the maintenance contract, with 15 years remaining on it, after taking it over in 1999 from Evergreen Alliance Gold Ltd.

The Council
