The end of vacation is nigh as area schools gear up for the start of the second semester.

Classes in the Temple school district are reopening Tuesday, Jan. 3, to the dismay of some students and the delight of stressed out parents.

Belton, Academy, Bruceville-Eddy and Cameron schools join Temple on Tuesday and Troy gets a quick start on the semester on Monday, Jan. 2.
