Greeson hurls no-hitter as Belton rips Heights in 13-5A opener

Kelsey Greeson threw a no-hitter and her defensive mates played error-free behind her as Belton rolled to a 17-0 road win over Harker Heights in a District 13-5A opener Tuesday night.

Greeson, who had 10 strikeouts and only one walk, also was one of four Lady Tigers to get a pair of hits in the five-inning, run-ruled rout.

Jessica Whitley, Sara Vance and Kayla Bishop also had two hits apiece, and Jill Douglas belted a three-run home run to help fuel a six-run fourth inning.

Belton (6-4) will compete in the Killeen Shoemaker tournament Friday and Saturday, before returning to district action next Tuesday at home against Waco.
