Bill earmarks funds for Bell A&M schools; money for Temple medical school, Tarleton-Central Texas require Senate passage

Hopes for four-year programs at the Temple campus of the Texas A&M Medical School and Tarleton State University-Central Texas were given a boost Thursday with Texas House approval of $90 million in funding for the two campuses.

The bill, HB 153, was passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday afternoon, and would approve tuition revenue bonds for Texas A&M University for both the expansion of its medical school and for Tarleton State University-Central Texas in Killeen, which would help it become a full, four-year undergraduate institution.
