Area unemployment rises to 6 percent

The collective unemployment rate for Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood rose to 6.0 percent for the month of June, an increase of 0.8 percent from 5.2 percent in May, according to statistics released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission.
