Attorney: Due process threatened

KILLEEN - Attorney Craig Carlson said Monday the Army is subverting due process of law and steam-rolling a soldier he represents accused of rape and capital murder.

Pfc. Jesse V. Spielman of Company B, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division is one of four soldiers undergoing an Article 32 pre-trial hearing at an outpost some 20 miles south of Baghdad, Carlson said. The hearing is the equivalent of a civilian grand jury hearing.
