Park art to be unveiled

The
City parks in Temple are known to be a place to exercise and enjoy nature, but soon park goers will also be able to enjoy works of art while they jog or walk the dog.

The Temple Parks Foundation Art in the Park program is set to dedicate the fruits of its initial efforts to complement nature when it dedicates three bronze statues at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in Miller Park.

Donors funded two of the statues as memorials. Future bronzes in the city parks, which will be funded by the foundation, will be dedicated in Lions Park in November.

According to Dinah Rawls, foundation president, the Miller Park statues include one that is already in place and depicts the maxim
